Velas<\/strong>
Casa do Ant\u00f3nio is located in the beautiful town of Velas, the center of the municipality and near iconic places such as Faj\u00e3 do Ouvidor, Faj\u00e3 da Ribeira da Areia, Faj\u00e3 d\u2019Al\u00e9m in the parish of Norte Grande; Faj\u00e3 das Almas in the parish of Manadas, Faj\u00e3 de Vasco Martins in the parish of Santo Amaro, and Faj\u00e3 de Jo\u00e3o Dias in the parish of Rosais.<\/p>\n

The viewpoints along the way are not to be missed \u2013 the Whale Lookout (Vigia da Baleia) in Rosais, recently restored, is a must-see when visiting the island\u2019s tip, as are the forest parks, namely Parque das Macelas in Santo Amaro and Parque Florestal das Sete Fontes in Rosais.<\/p>\n

Don\u2019t forget the sea just 50 meters from Casa do Ant\u00f3nio, where you can plan a boat trip along the island\u2019s coast and marvel at the green slopes dotted with small waterfalls.<\/p>\n

Festivities<\/strong>
In April, celebrate the Saint George festival in the municipality of Velas;
In June, the Velas Cultural Week animates S\u00e3o Jorge and the other \u201ctriangle islands.\u201d
In July, there are the festivities of the town of Calheta, full of ethnographic parades, folk music, sports events, and exhibitions.
Also in May and September, discover the Holy Spirit Festivals and Pilgrimages.
